The department of biomedical engineering at The University of Isfahan is a newly established department which admits students for the 1999-2000 academic year.
The department, with emphasis in the field of genetics, is an expansion of the genetics department established in 1985. It aims to play a fundamental role in the advancement of many areas of science and engineering which are affected by this rapidly expending area.
